1) Photo org: A. Students will be given a folder with pictures to classify into regions. They will work in groups of 3-4 to come up with the 4 regions and to write down their explanation of their categories in 2 sentences each on butcher paper. They will have 10 minutes to look at their photos, come up with the categories, and write explanations. 2) Notes over regions and characteristics of a place. 3) students will look at the pictures again and try to sort them using their new information. - After, the students will do a gallery walk. They will look over other group’s categories and note any similarities, differences or changes they would make to the groups categories and pictures on the butcher paper with their groups color marker. ![]()
Students will read ch 9 in their Jarrett books and answer the questions.
Step 1- read your document
Step 2- answer the following questions: a. what is the history behind your document b. summarize your document c. why is your document important? What is its purpose? Step 3- how are you going to present this to class? - song/jingle- may be the music from another song and you change the words to fit your document or it could be your own creation. - news broadcast- think CNN or 6 o’clock news - skit- can be anything as long as the history, purpose, and summary of document is portrayed - cartoon/book- must be in color. Must have beginning, middle, and end. Must be best effort for artwork. Spelling and Grammar count. Will have to read or present to class. Step 4- write out your presentation/ assign roles for each member of your group (or no points) Today students are going to jigsaw (go from their home group to a different group) to gather information for their team. They will then share the information, ensuring all students have correctly analyzed documents.
Then, they will organize their documents into a "T" chart. Do the documents show Human Geographic factors or Physical Geographic Factors? Scuba 3 of the primary source documents in the packet.
